 Here are some TED Talks you might want to watch 1. "The psychology behind irrational decisions": Garofolo, Sara. (2016, May). The psychology behind irrational decisions . Those approaches are called heuristics and are mostly based on previous experience or intuition. The educator, Sara Garofolo, explains how we should use analysis instead of these two factors.  The educator actually has a PhD in psychometrics and data analysis. Furthermore, her main area of expertise is neuroscience, which explains why she has made multiple TED Talks on different brain subjects. 2. These are some specialized terms you may need help with while reading my blog posts or new words I discovered 1. Netherworld (au-delà) An uncertain or undefined place. 2. M esolimbic dopamine system (système de dopamine mésolimbique) A pathway used by the brain to carry dopamine, a neurotransmitter in the brain, from one area to another one. 3. Ventral tegmental area or VTA (aire tegmentale ventrale) A group of neurons near the middle part of the brain called the mesencephalon. This area is responsible for the cell bodies related to dopamine in the mesocortex and limbic system. Also, the VTA has a big role in the drug and reward circuitry of the brain. 4. GABA or gamma-aminobutyric acid (acide gamma-aminobutyrique) An acid that is an inhibitory neurotransmitter limiting the stimulation of neurons.   Let me tell you a little about myself and how I chose to become a psychologist. First and foremost, let me ask you who doesn’t love gossip? I certainly do! I have always loved to listen to people’s business and help them sort things out. But I have never been the type of person to go all up in people’s business and spread false rumors. I think that my love for gossiping and my fascination with the different functions of the human brain encouraged me towards wanting to be a psychologist.  Also, I think that I have always wanted to have a profession in which I can help others. I used to want to be a pharmacist but as the years passed, I found myself a passion for the human brain. Unfortunately, being a pharmacist would not have allowed me to work with the human brain each day, so I decided that being a psychologist would be a good fit for me.
