In this article, researchers explain that they recently found out that rapid eye movement sleep, a phase of sleep, helps with brain refreshing. They explain how they used mice to see the movement of red blood cells and the electrical activity in the brain. The researchers explain that more research will be done on rapid eye movement and adenosine A2 receptors, receptors that determine if you feel tired or not. The article suggests that there will be more research since the findings could lead to new treatments for illnesses such as Alzheimer.
